Our MEKO® A-400 concept is precisely tailored to meet NATO’s current and foreseeable requirements. It delivers exceptional combat power, high speed, and long endurance while offering compact dimensions. By incorporating proven elements such as propulsion systems, electrical energy supply, helicopter integration, crew accommodation standards, and established weapon systems, the MEKO® A-400 significantly reduces construction risks compared to entirely new designs.

The MEKO® A-400’s two-island principle strengthens operational resilience. By physically separating critical systems, the ship remains operational even in the face of significant damage, enhancing its overall survivability. Complemented by a low radar signature, minimal heat emissions, and optimized underwater acoustic properties, the MEKO® A-400 is ideally suited for operations in the North Atlantic region.

For its Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) role, the MEKO® A-400 can be equipped with state-of-the-art towed sonar systems, ASW-capable helicopters, and advanced technologies like the SeaSpider® torpedo defense system and C310 light launcher, setting new benchmarks in submarine defense.

The MEKO® A-400’s “Fitted-For-But-Not-With” (FFBNW) design enables future upgrades, ensuring adaptability to evolving threats. With AEGIS and CMS330 command systems, SPY-6 sensors, and effectors such as SM2, SM6, and 3SM, the frigate is equipped for a wide range of mission profiles.

Integration into the "Aegis User Club" facilitates seamless interoperability with NATO partners, underscoring the strategic value of this cutting-edge platform.
